Mothers Day

Madeline (with lots of help from her Daddy) got me a beautiful flower bracelet for Mothers Day.. thanks also for the flowers Uncle Steve & Aunt Kelly!

Bear Overboard

Madeline has always loved her bear... he stays snuggled up with her in her crib and they have lots of fun together. Last week, I heard a strange thump after I put her down for naptime, but thought it came from outside. Upon further investigation a little later, we found this:

That's a soundly sleeping Madeline with a Mr. Bear on the floor outside of her crib. It's like she heaved him over the side to help her escape.

Spurs tribute

Well, our Spurs didn't make it past Phoenix for the first time ever, but that didn't stop us from showing our support in the home stretch. We went to game 3 (while Madeline was soundly asleep at home), but she brought out her special Spurs outfit on gameday to get geared up.

Just when you thought it was safe to go into the water... And no, she did not manage to deflate her boat.

Pool Basketball

Madeline's First Swim

Madeline took very easily to the water during her first swim May 5th. She's always enjoyed bathtime and has eyed the pool for months now, so her first plunge was nothing but fun for her. The water was a bit chilly (for south Texas), but she didn't seem to mind at all.

Swinging

Last weekend we went to a nearby park where they have baby swings. Madeline loves to feel the wind in her hair.

Dave's dad came to visit, too - Madeline's really enjoyed her company lately!

Walking...We're not "Lion"

Madeline's been pulling herself up to stand and has been cruising around for a few weeks, but here she is walking behind her push lion just minutes after she did it for the first time last week. She just pulled herself up and started walking with it like it was no big deal. It's her new favorite thing to do. She's already gotten so much better after a few days. Wow.

Miss Chelsea's Graduation

Miss Chelsea just graduated from nursing school, and we were so glad to celebrate with her and her family (though we'll be very sad if she has to move!!!). As you can see, Madeline was happy to see Miss Chelsea in a completely different setting.

Grandma visits

Grandma Torres came down for a visit last weekend... here they have some fun seeing Madeline's new lamb in her new pink dress.

Dada's Home

We had lots of fun while Dave was gone, but it was so so good to have him home again!! I love how Madeline holds on when she's being carried. Sweet girl.

Crazy Aunt Nora

Madeline enjoyed a string of visitors lately, starting with "Crazy Aunt Nora" from Chicago. We'll have to get those matching Beatles shirts up on a future post - thanks again!

Madeline Says "Good!"

Madeline has been talking lots lately! Besides Mama and Dada, which she's been saying for months, she can clearly say "duck" and "hi duck" (and "hi" other things too like "hi, Dada...") and "book" and "bird" and "dog" and something that sounds like "doots" (that means "tulips" and actually a few other things too). Here during breakfast she clearly says "good" two days shy of her 10-month birthday. Wait for it...
